International Conference ‘Health and societal perspectives in academia and beyond’

Vinnytsia National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Maastricht University, and Strengthening Academic Integrity in Ukraine Project (SAIUP) organize International Conference ‘Health and societal perspectives in academia and beyond’ on October 6, 2017 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine.

The conference is organized within the project “Bridging innovations, health, and society: Educational capacity building in the Eastern European Neighbouring Areas” (BIHSENA) which is funded by ERASMUS+ capacity building (KA2). In Ukraine, the project is implemented by the Vinnitsa National Pirogov Memorial Medical University and by the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy under the coordination of Maastricht University (The Netherlands). The aim of the conference is to explore and discuss the issues of intersectorial collaboration for health and academic integrity. Professors, post-graduate, PhD and university students, researchers, practitioners are invited to participate in the conference.

During the conference four interactive workshops are planned:

  • How to implement a "Blended Learning": innovative and traditional forms (by Nynke de Jong, Maastricht university)
  • To achieve leadership in academia
  • How to understand statistics in scientific articles (Julia Barska, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy)
  • How to use research networks for academic visibility (Tetiana Semigina, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy)
  • Assuring the quality in modern university (SAIUP workshop by Sergiy Kvit)

Registration

  • To register - fill in the form following the  link goo.gl/e2n9YF
  • The form requires information on: authors of the abstract, affiliation, contacts, as well as there is a separate field for abstract submission
  • Requirements for abstracts: abstracts are submitted in Ukrainian or English. The abstract for the conference can be from 300 to 800 words.
  • Form of abstract book: electronic edition
  • Organizational Committee reserves the right to select the abstracts for the conference. One of the key selection criteria is the quality and relevance of the abstract to the health issues.
  • Conference materials will be published as electronic abstract book, which will be available from the website of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

 

Participation in the conference

  • All expenditures related to travel, accommodation and per diems are the responsibility of participants of the conference or of their  organizations.
  • The conference will provide coffee- breaks and informational materials of the conference.
  • Working languages of the conference – Ukrainian and English.
  • Form of participation in the conference: oral, poster presentations or abstract publishing.

 

Key dates

July 31, 2017             – deadline for the abstract submission and registration

August 23, 2017         – information on the results of the abstract selection and form of participation is sent to participants via e-mail

September 25, 2017   – the preliminary program of the conference is shared with the participants  

October 6,  2017        –  Conference Day
