Klasien Horstman, PhD, Professor of the Philosophy of Public Health at the department of Health, Ethics and Society; director of the research programme Inequality, Participation, Globalisation at School for Public Health and Primary Healthcare, Maastricht University. She is the coordinator of BIHSENA project. To understand the sciences and cultures of prevention, Klasien works at the interface of philosophy, sociology, and science and technology studies. Between 2001 and 2009 she was Socrates Professor in Philosophy and Ethics of Bioengineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Since 2009 she is full prof. Philosophy of Public Health, Maastricht. She worked on a number of research projects focusing on the ethical and societal consequences of genetic, biomedical and public health technologies and on developing participative public health approaches.

Anna Merklinger-Gruchała, PhD, Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University.

As an academic teacher she specializes in biostatistics, epidemiology, medical research methodology and nutrition which correspond also with her scientific interests. An author of the scientific articles in the area of women’s reproductive biology and epidemiology. She participated in the national and international projects, such as: “Lifestyle factors, steroid hormones levels and breast cancer risk”; “Quality of life and health”, “The influence of air pollution on the hormonal balance in women of reproductive age” conducted in Jagiellonian University and Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University.

Ivan Tchalakov, PhD, Professor at the Department of Institutional and Applied Sociology, University of Plovdiv, and senior research fellow at Centre for Policy Analyses and Studies of Technologies (PAST), Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russian Federation.

Ivan is also affiliated at BAS Institute of Studying Societies and Knowledge. He has carried out several large EU and USA funded projects in the field, among them TACTIC, PROKNOW and ATACD projects under EU Framework IV and VI programs, Bulgaria after Wassenaar Agreement (McArthur Foundation), EE Economic Transition Policy Revisited: Neo-Schumpeterian Model (CPS – Central European University), Networks of Transition (Open Society Foundation), Electric Current’s Power (RiskMonitor Foundation).

Tetiana Stepurko, PhD, assistant professor and head of master program "Health care management" at the School of Public Health, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

Tetiana has a PhD degree from Maastricht University. Her research is focused on the nature and scale of informal patient payments in Central and Eastern European countries. Apart from informal practices in health care and education, her interests include organization of health care service provision, governance etc. She is a member of organization committee of Summer School "Health care system transformation: Eastern Europe" for health care policy-makers and administrators and Winter School "Public Health in Ukraine" for professionals. She is a project coordinator of Health care consumer's satisfaction index in Ukraine.

Nataliia Malachkova, PhD, Associate professor, Head of Ophthalmology department, Vinnitsa National Pirogov Memorial Medical University. She is responsible for the postgraduate training of doctors ophthalmologists and family physicians. Nataliia is occupied with the problems of protection of childrens vision, social and medical rehabilitation of the blind and visually impaired. She is a leader of  civil organization «Wave of Life», which helps blind children to learn this world.

Olga Fedorova, MD, PhD, Professor of Faculty Pediatrics Department, Siberian State Medical University.

Olga Fedorova is a specialist in the fields of pediatrics. The main area of the work is teaching and training of the students and interns. Research interests is the clinical epidemiology of allergic diseases and helminthiasis. She took part as investigator in the scientific projects of EU Sixth Framework Programme GABRIEL, EuroPrevall. She is a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), Tomsk OPIsthorchiasis Consortium (TOPIC), and a secretary of the Regional branch of the Union of Pediatricians of Russia.

Olga Zvonareva is a research fellow at the department of Health, Ethics and Society in Maastricht University. 

She is a vice-chair of the Taskforce Russia, a group developing collaborative links between Maastricht University and Russian academic organisations. Olga is also a research fellow at the Policy Analysis and Technology Studies Centre in Tomsk State University, Russia. Olga is involved in teaching in Global Health master programme and her research focuses on processes and dynamics of innovation in (bio)medicine. She is co-coordinator of BIHSENA project.
